 MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY

The Book of Galatians

Beginning April 17 through May  23 - Tuesdays, 7:00 pm and Wednesdays,10:00 am - with Pastor Mark in

Luther Hall on Tejon

He was first called Saul, a Jewish leader who opposed and persecuted Christians. But one day, he met Jesus in a special way and became Paul.  Saul knew about all the Jewish laws, obeying them and following all the Jewish traditions. But when Paul became a Christian, his life changed. Now he understood the real purpose of God’s law. God’s law shows people their sins and our need to trust only Jesus.

Our study will cover these areas: confronting false teaching; understanding Paul’s Gospel; faith versus law; Christian freedom; Christian liberty in action.

Embracing the Prophets in Contemporary Culture

9:00 am in the Worship Center upstairs - with Pastor Mark

Our six sessions will put the prophets of Hebrew Scripture into the framework of Israel’s history—then draw connections between Israel’s sociological, economic, and spiritual situations and those of our society today.

Each session begins with a brief presentation by renowned pastor and seminary professor Walter Bruggemann, followed by the filmed interaction with a diverse small group, then thirdly, our own opportunity to join the conversation.

Expect stimulating ideas and opinions!
