I joined the staff of First Lutheran Church in June of 2003. I have been a member of First Lutheran since December of 1984. My three children, Laura, David and Diana, were baptized and confirmed here at First Lutheran. They are now grown and active in their own pursuits. I enjoy skiing, watching movies, gardening, bicycling and time with my children.

My job as the Director of Lay Ministries encompasses many activities. I recruit and schedule all the Sunday morning lay ministers. When someone needs volunteers for various activities I assist them in finding people. I help coordinate Cradle roll, altar care, alb laundry and care, the mailing of birthday letters, sewing of baptismal towels, training of ushers, organizing of Fellowship events, and delivery of Lenten Packets. I also schedule workdays and Sunday morning receptions.

The church has many outreach programs which include the serving of meals at Marion House Soup Kitchen, Ronald McDonald House, Mission Medical Dental Clinic and the Acacia Hotel; delivering food from the Fish Food Pantry; hosting Interfaith Hospitality Network guests four times a year; participating in Habitat House building in partnership with Thrivent; providing 600 Christmas gifts to MOSAIC (a Lutheran ministry for the developmentally challenged), Children of Promise, Lutheran Family Services Sibling House and the Pueblo State Hospital; providing a bi-monthly worship service to a local nursing home; hosting two blood drives each year; collecting food and clothing to benefit Ecumenical Social Ministries four times each year. I oversee each of these activities with the help of many volunteer coordinators.

I help greet guests to First Lutheran and provide them with information about the church. I coordinate the New Member meetings and assist the new members as they become part of our family of God.

In addition to the duties listed above, I am in charge of keeping the church database up to date. I am also the person "behind the scenes" on Sunday morning making sure everything is running smoothly. If you see me "running around" on Sunday morning, please stop me and introduce yourself.
